About This Project

The brief was to create the most interesting coffee table possible – a mechanical orrery where the planets glide as if by magic, controllable via an app on your smartphone. So far we have completed concept design, and a small proof-of-concept mechanical prototype, testing out different ways of driving the planetary orbits and revolutions. The ultimate conversation piece for the lounge room.
