About This Project

Prouza Design Workshop was approached by hardware startup Speedominder to design a haptic feedback device for road speed-limits.


Leveraging existing mobile and notification technology that allows the device to be aware of geographically localised speed limits, the form of the device needed to be relevant to several divergent scenarios: in-vehicle dashboard mounting, pocket use for motorcycle riders, or attached to the accelerator pedal stem for direct haptic feedback to the drivers’ foot.


A large range of product concepts were explored in user workshops and a final concept was developed. The development stage was run with a strong consideration of Design for Manufacturing, creating part design that were suitable for a startup entering the world of mass-production for the first time.
